Ailsa’s Travel-Themed photo challenge this eek is Spooky.
This is still an old photo, from Halloween 2011. But I will head out any day now to take fresh photos of this year’s Halloween decorations that are now cropping up in our neighborhood. It should be a spooky Halloween this year…
… unless of course Hurricane Sandy spooks us out first. Current forecasts have it arriving in New York City precisely on Halloween!

Nice spooky pic – Imagine a world with no clowns, how lovely. Sorry Barnum and Bailey…
I know just what you mean :-)
I wouldn’t like to meet that in a dark alley . :D
No… it was small, but mean…
Well, that’s cute/scary!
A bit of both, indeed…

Gulp, reminds me of Stephen King’s IT – those teeth are disturbing!
It was definitely one of the most effective Halloween decorations around!
I’ve always regarded clowns as particularly spooky – your photograph has solidified that notion even more. Great capture.
Yes, there’s often something sinister, if not worse, about clowns…
I absolutely agree with Myra…
As do I…
I thought I’ve seen a movie with a clown as nasty and mean as this one or was it from a book? Happy ghost hunting and I hope the storm don’t come as promised to spook your fun.
Stephen King comes to mind…
The storm did come, but it’s gone now, fortunately.

How terrible, and I mean that in a good way, ugh what a creepy little thing!
I am beginning to think that I should have reserved this photo for the time when Ailsa issues her challenge of “Creepy” :-)

The scary clown gets me every time. Creepy!
Yes, Creepy even more than Spooky :-)
That is a really creepy face!
Batten down the hatches & stay well through the hurricane!
We are ok, but the rest of NYC is not…
OMG – that is so creepy. I think I am off clowns for life now.
Perhaps a good thing. :-)
That is a truly evil looking clown. Had better not show my son who finds all clowns scary.
Spooky, Creepy, Evil…

Well done. Certainly spooky! More than spooky. Nightmare fuel. ;)
Nightmare fuel indeed! :-)
Looking forward to seeing the photos…I imagine a quick exposure time will be required to overcome Sandy’s influence although the ghostly blurs that might otherwise ensue could make for a spooky shot!
I did get a few nice shots just before Sandy hit… will post them soon!
That is easily the creepiest clown I’ve ever seen.
Same here!

Clowns creep me out and that one does too. You took a wonderful spooky photo. Thanks for the nightmares :) Stay safe! :)
What was actually most disturbing was the unexpectedly small size of this evil clown… just right to take a bite out of your leg as you passed by…
Now that is really scaring me…just to think it could take a bite out of my legs walking by…..Shooky :)
Sorry to cause nightmares… ;-)
