... kayaked the waters around New York for more than 15 years in his red Feathercraft folding kayak. He was originally from (the former) Czechoslovakia and lived in the U.K. and California before settling down in New York. He was a neuroscientist at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York City. He died in 2016.Johna Till Johnson
... is a kayaker and technology researcher at Nemertes Research. She's an erstwhile engineer, particle physicist, and science fiction writer. She was born in California and has lived in Italy, Norway, Hawaii, and a few other places. She currently resides in New York City.Recent Comments

You are right, those eyes do reflect the whole scene… I must be in there somewhere, but too hard to make out distinctly. (I wasn’t wearing a yellow parka.)

fall is my favorite season of the year. you must have a very good camera to capture those details.

Not really any special camera—all these photos were taken with a Nikon D80, a fairly basic DSLR camera, with zoom telephoto lenses mostly at 200-300mm…

They usually are, but since I’m in Oman and away from home for the third fall in a row, I missed the season altogether. I will be home next fall though to enjoy the leaves in all their splendor!
