On A Word In Your Ear , Skinnywench’s photo challenge this week is Cloud. Since I have so many photos of clouds—it’s hard to avoid clouds, just as it is hard to avoid water, in kayaking photos—I thought I would join in.
But, although I have many photos of clouds, the clouds of two special days stand out particularly in my memory. On those days, a dramatic, constantly changing cloudscape dominated the scene. We stared upward, mesmerized.
Here’s the first of those days.
The story of the day is here, more photos are here, and larger versions of some of the photos are here. And the second of the two spectacularly Cloudy days is here.

These photographs are quite stunning Vladimir – I’m glad you decided to post :)
Thank you for the challenge! :-)
Awesome sky :)
Thanks, Jenn!

Thanks for reblogging!!
Amazing shots – great sequence
Thanks!!
The Cityscape becomes dwarfed by Beautiful Cloud Skies :-)
Yes, that’s how it felt, and how it often does feel out on open water—the sky, especially when it is so dramatic, is everything…
Another great post, Vladi.
Thank you!!
Beautiful!
Thanks!
That looks like a serious storm about to break in the first photos.
It didn’t, though—the ominous dark clouds just hung above us all day, until a brief but intense shower at sunset (the two yellow photos), after which the clouds began to clear…
These photos are outstanding! http://ohtheplaceswesee.com
Thank you—glad you like them!!
Ohh they are so beautiful! I enjoy watching the constant change of the clouds… always making up new pictures for us to capture and never the same.
Exactly! :-)
Reblogged this on chaotiqual.
Thanks for reblogging!
You’re welcome. :)
Gorgeous!
Thanks, Carissa!
These are some AMAZING photos of clouds over New York. LOVE THEM!
BE ENCOURAGED! BE BLESSED!
It was an amazing day!
That shot with just the tiny streak of yellow is the one for me!
A little bit of yellow and a little bit of blue :-)
Some stunning images here.
Thank you, Colline!
Vladimir, you have done it again! These are simply beautiful! I really like the 6th one down – the one you have titled “crepuscular rays”. Very, very nice!
Yes, one of my favorites too… :-)
Grand sky images! It must be a more intense experience from the water – I certainly would pay attention when on the street, but you don’t get as wide a view, and you know you’re removed from it – you can take shelter – so it’s not the same. I can’t figure out where you were though – oh – I hovered and now I see – thanks for that. I don’t know how to do that when posting – does it automatically happen if you title your photo (I have not been putting titles in)?
New York Harbor…
Yes, it’s the title (as opposed to the caption, or the alt text). Most if not all themes will display the title when you place the cursor over the photo.
Vladimir, thank you for stopping and liking a post recently. Your pictures of the sky line and sky of New York are impressive and beautiful. I look forward to following your blog as you explore the opposing forces that so often make up the paradox we call life.
Take care,
Ivon
Thank you, Ivon. Thanks for following our blog!—much more to come :-)
They’re all so dramatic – thanks, Vlad!
Thanks, Cathy!
Another set of amazing photos! really wonderful…
Thank you so much! :-)
Some ominous looking clouds, Vladimir! But beautiful…
We couldn’t take our eyes off them… and not just because they looked like they were going to turn into a storm at any moment ;-)
