This week’s Photo Challenge is Love.
And there’s one set of photos that comes to mind straight away :-)
Some of you have seen them before, and I apologize. I promise not to show them again (any time soon, anyway)… I guess I’ll have to find something else for Valentine’s Day!

... has kayaked the waters around New York for over a decade in his red Feathercraft folding kayak. He comes originally from (the former) Czechoslovakia and has lived in the U.K. and California before settling down in New York. He is a neuroscientist at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York City.
... is a kayaker and technology researcher at Nemertes Research. She's an erstwhile engineer, particle physicist, and science fiction writer. She was born in California and has lived in Italy, Norway, Hawaii, and a few other places. She currently resides in New York City.
You had to post these photos! I would love to photograph something like that before I die!
I hope there’s plenty of time yet! You just have to get out there and be ready. I took these photos in a completely unexpected 15 minutes… :-)

Well, actually, I can almost believe it. There were dozens of people admiring them, walking by on an elevated boardwalk, and the pelicans were on a separate piling just a few feet away from the boardwalk, but at the same height, almost like on a stage…
I suppose the word preening is applicable in that case : )

Looking at the full set, I think they were actually dancing a tango, and they knew it. That sequence of held poses, bodies held close…
