Ailsa‘s Travel-Themed Photo Challenge this week is Red.
But I’ve already used my reddest photo for the recent Capture the Colour contest!
Still, there’s plenty of red to be seen as we kayak around New York Harbor… and not just because the bow of my kayak is red!
I knew that you’d be fast with this one, and I expected to see a bright red kayak! I did not expect to see so many other splashes of red from the vantage point of your kayak. Great post! Z

The harbor is actually very colorful. Ships are often painted in bright colors—it costs nothing extra, so why not?—and then there are the red, green, and yellow buoys and markers, painted so for maximal visibility…

Red is a theme today. Before I even read your post, I had my nails done. RED. Two other blogs I follow also chose to highlight things that are red. Funny!

Ooh, love it Vlad. That lone red buoy in the mist is stunning, and I love the Verrazano Narrows one too, with the red of your kayak balancing the other red in the distance. Lovely! xxx

Maybe your next theme can be Green. I have plenty of photos of green buoys too…

Aha! I shall keep that in mind. Although you’ll probably pull something entirely unexpected out of your pocket instead – I am wise to your ways, Vlad ;)

You mean in the first photo? It wasn’t going anywhere. As I recall, we had to be really close to get out of the cold wind and have some tea…

Nice selection for Red – I like the tugboat best.

Funny you should say that—many more tugboats, some even red, here.
