Even though upstate the trees are already bare, here in New York City, in our heat island, Fall is still very much with us… Here are a few photos taken over the last few days in Central Park.

... kayaked the waters around New York for more than 15 years in his red Feathercraft folding kayak. He was originally from (the former) Czechoslovakia and lived in the U.K. and California before settling down in New York. He was a neuroscientist at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York City. He died in 2016.Johna Till Johnson
... is a kayaker and technology researcher at Nemertes Research. She's an erstwhile engineer, particle physicist, and science fiction writer. She was born in California and has lived in Italy, Norway, Hawaii, and a few other places. She currently resides in New York City.Recent Comments

That’s the magnolias ahead of the game, still with yellow fall leaves but already putting out big fuzzy buds to be ready to go in the spring! :-)

These autumn colours are magnificent. We have about 5 minutes of autumn here in Johannesburg, and so we do not get to enjoy the warm, rich colours like this.

Haha – that may be true but I’m sure many of those are lovely too. Maybe I should rephrase it and say thank you for making the effort to be outside so regularly when the light is beautiful and taking the time to capture it in your wonderfully composed images and sharing them with the rest of us.

The first tree caught my eye. The foreground seems to blend with the background making the whole photo spectacular. The colors are rich! Great photo!
