Thank you!! I have not (yet) been to Talinn, but I have been to Helsinki, just across the Baltic… in the summer light, a wonderful part of the world! :-)

the fall is hanging on in there here too but still so much colour in the park. Great shots – especially love the gaggle of girls in soft blur

Nice set of photographs. One question, what are the folk with the bats doing?
LikeLike
Fighting! I didn’t ask if what they were doing was some formally recognized form of activity or something they had themselves invented, but clearly it was loosely based on medieval tournaments, and they were taking it quite seriously. They had heavily padded “swords” and shields (and some had medieval-inspired clothing), and fought each other. Or rather, beat each other, using the swords like bats—with real swords, they would have had to fight a bit differently… ;-)

Fantastic, what a wonderfully weird world we live in :-)

And in the US the weirdness is often more visible than elsewhere :-)

Whoa there! Didn’t your photographer’s heart sing when you saw those wonderful bubbles. Mine does just looking at your pix.

Yes, and not just mine… photographers were prowling the park like wild beasts ;-)

I love The Boathouse. When I have out-of-town visitors I always take them there. No better place on Sunday than Central Park.

I agree! Except maybe a beer garden, of course ;-)

What an array of fun, everyone is having so much joy in this park. Wonderful photos, and the bubbles are my favorite, just because of the colours :-)

Mine too… these were the best two, I thought, but I took so many more :-)

I love your post Vladimir!!!! The first pic is just magical..How can exist colours like that, so brilliant and pure? The others are full of joy and life…I bet you had a great day and came back home full of positive energy!

It was a wonderful day in the park—one of the best, and so unexpected too. There was a lot more going on than I showed here—in particular some spectacular rollerblade dancing—but it got dark and I didn’t get really good photos…

But you lived the moment!

But did the moment really exist if it wasn’t captured in a photograph? ;-)

I really really really miss New York … and especially, Central Park. Say hello to Alice for me, if you get over that way.

Will do! Somehow I don’t go past her all that often, but I’ll make a special point of it :-)

I was watching an old game show at my mom’s the other day. One of the questions was, “What is the hippest city in the US? The top answer yielded no surprise. NYC!
These shots – especially the bubbles – are very hip.

And that’s in staid Manhattan… things are much hipper in Brooklyn these days…

Love the vibe of NYC. Use to live and work there. Visited recently…could not keep up the pace. There’s a difference between being moving around in The Big Apple as a 20 something year old…and a 60 something year old. At least it is for this 64-year-old. :)

You can just sit, and let it all come to you! That works, if you pick the right spot in the middle of things… :-)

Sound advice. Only as a tourist…one wants to see and do everything in such a short time. BTW…my 27-year-old daughter who’s a professional dance would LOVE to live in NYC. And she just might…

I would think NYC must be the place to be if you are a dancer :-) Hope it happens!

Tell that to the movers and shakers in the dance world. She’d move her little toosh there in a heartbeat!
