... kayaked the waters around New York for more than 15 years in his red Feathercraft folding kayak. He was originally from (the former) Czechoslovakia and lived in the U.K. and California before settling down in New York. He was a neuroscientist at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York City. He died in 2016.Johna Till Johnson
... is a kayaker and technology researcher at Nemertes Research. She's an erstwhile engineer, particle physicist, and science fiction writer. She was born in California and has lived in Italy, Norway, Hawaii, and a few other places. She currently resides in New York City.Recent Comments

I like the repeating image. Reminds me of sitting a barber’s chair when I was little and seeing my image repeated into infinity with the mirrors front to back.

I like that sort of repeating image. There used to be lots of places you could find three-section mirrors that allowed this or sometimes bathroom mirrors were opposite each other and you could see the repetition.

Also those bathroom mirrors that angle in multiple ways to allow simultaneous multiple angles of the same central subject, the photographer… I didn’t think of that for this challenge, but that must be the ultimate, narcissistic selfie :-)

It’s actually better that the corridor appears to curve—unintentionally, I am sure: they didn’t manage to set the two mirrors quite parallel to each other—which makes the photo a bit more interesting somehow… :-)

Imposters! This can’t be Johna and Vlad. I have it on good authority that the lower half of their bodies are actually kayaks. There are no kayaks in this photo, which, btw, is excellent!
