On Top of New York City at Sunset

By Vladimir Brezina

What good is a roof if you don’t go up there now and again to watch the sunset over the city?

  3. I especially like the first and the last pictures with their greater definition of the dark, grumbling clouds and the cityscapes, but they’re all wonderful!

  4. Stunning shots Vladimir! The clouds today were amazing in NJ as well! I went out at sunset also and yes, the clouds blocked out the sun’s final descent but the clouds were beautiful. Thank you for going up on the roof and giving us a treat!

  5. Look at that view! It may be a drive to get the boats in the water but what a spot to live!

  9. Spectacular. How high was the building where you stood, watching the sunset?

  11. Such an exquisite sunset. Rarely have I seen a sunset that is bright yellow or close to yellow – most of the time the sunsets here in Melbourne are orange or red. Oh yes, if there’s a roof with a good view, it’s always worth going up there to enjoy a bit of our beautiful world :)

  12. Vlad, good city views. For some reason, I’m being blocked from clicking “Like” on your W blog. Maybe you know how I can fix that.

    • I’ve had that problem a few times too, and it’s usually been a browser issue. I use Firefox, which occupies more and more memory as I browse more and more sites, and eventually slows down dramatically. With the amount of browsing I do, I find that I have to restart it at least every few days.

Hey! I’ve been noticing that exact thing. But if I complained you’d just tell me it was a “weird Mac issue”. :-).

  13. Was this last night? A friend of mine in Brooklyn posted some pics on his Facebook page; he said the sky last night was intense.

    • Yes, this was last night (Wednesday). It was a good sunset, but not the most spectacular. There were too many clouds that didn’t really allow the sun to break through at sunset—I was hoping for more light on the city and on the higher clouds themselves. It was very windy, especially above the 30th floor :-)
