A twist of twisted lemon, anyone?

Yes, it’s a citrus fruit: Buddha’s Hand.

  5. Can it be eaten? Very different. How does it grow, on a tree? I think you have stirred our curiosity :)

    • It’s a variety of citron, and grows on a tree like the more familiar citrus fruits. To prepare it, think of it basically as the rind of a lemon. Plenty of recipes online—just Google “Buddha’s hand” :-)

  7. Have you eaten this fruit before. I see from your Wikipedia source that it is used often for it’s zest. Neat picture for “twist!”

    • Johna bought it so I could photograph it, but then it shriveled up too much for us to do much with it. But we certainly tasted it… the entire fruit is basically lemon peel, and the recipes reflect that :-)

  8. It does look like something from the ocean. I thought you were going to say it was from the Pacific ocean!

What kind of mudra would Buddha make if this were indeed a Buddha’s hand?????
