After seven days on the water, the finish of our big kayak trip is still some way off over the horizon, but we’re suddenly sure that we’ll make it today. What could go wrong now? ;-)

Well, we did have to land now and again to get some sleep. Sleeping on the water in single kayaks is one thing we still haven’t quite figured out…

It was quite an adventure! Unfortunately a lot of it was at night, in the Florida Everglades where, without a moon, there is no light at all, so we didn’t see a thing during these sections :-)

Yes, I’ve been reading about the hippos—definitely more scary still than even the crocodiles. Fortunately they seem to dislike salt water…
