... kayaked the waters around New York for more than 15 years in his red Feathercraft folding kayak. He was originally from (the former) Czechoslovakia and lived in the U.K. and California before settling down in New York. He was a neuroscientist at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York City. He died in 2016.Johna Till Johnson

Gripping story telling I was there with you never competed over such a distance but I know the peaks and troughs the driving yourself on and how the mind challenges reality – really enjoyed reading it

Thanks, Scott! As far as mind challenging reality goes, this was still pretty easy—only a few hours, in daylight. We’ve had trips where the mind did challenge reality, literally, as in our Everglades Challenge trip, over 8 days without a lot of sleep. The hallucinations were quite intense…
