this is awesome! :D
Excellent! The outside first, then the insides, very creative.
That’s a fabulous succession of photos, Vlad – did you encourage the dispersion, or wait for the breeze to do its thing between shots?
Neither—there were quite a few of these seed pods in various stages of opening up. So it’s not the same pod in each photo. Kind of like the cooking shows on TV: you are shown the raw chicken going in the oven, and then ten seconds later it comes out magically golden-brown…
A field full of long brown seedpods? How enterprising of you, Vlad:)
Well, there was just a small clump of them—this was NYC’s Central Park, after all—but enough.
:)

Ooh, milkweed! Haven’t seen milkweed pods in years. Do you have a lot of monarch butterflies in your area? Very nice shots.
Quite a few monarch butterflies at certain times of the year. I didn’t know anything about milkweed until recently, but I am getting to think that it is a fascinating plant—the monarchs, the pods, the giant milkweed bugs…
Beautiful capture!
Thanks, Tania!
Stunning set of photos, Vladimir.
Thank you, Lynne!
