Ailsa’s travel-themed photo challenge this week is Sky, and the Weekly Photo Challenge is Let There Be Light! Putting the two together—
Crepuscular rays, also called “Backstays of the Sun” and even “Fingers of God”. Let There Be Light, indeed!
Beautiful rays :)

Then the clouds parted and there was light. Love the shades of gray and the contrast especially the yellow.

Awesome pictures, Vladimir. It is so exciting to capture the light when it breaks through the cloud layer, it is magical to experience :-)
All the best,

I love the skay when it looks like that. We used to say that it meant it was raining “over there,” but I don’t think it is. It’s just an optical think, but so beautiful. You capture it so elegantly.

Yes, not necessarily associated with rain—it wasn’t on any of the days shown in this post—just broken low cloud layers… Thanks!! :-)

Love the way the rays of the sun look coming through the cloud cover. I never have a camera when I see it.
