You sure Sergei was your cat, Vlad? You sure you weren’t his servant?

Servants still feel possessive about their masters…

True!!! It happens the same with me and Sigh, our Border Collie…

Toooooo true, Vlad. :)

I bet Vlad was the best cat servant ever. Sergei looks ever so contented. xxx

Cats are really funny. My one died; the other one then decided to move out after having had enough of my dogs and I…!

Oh, that is wonderful. Thank you for sharing this photo with us. I had cats walk into my home and stay for most of my life. Then I had a dog … and the cats now are visitors rather than becoming ‘mine’.

So that’s what the “also” refers to… I was wondering! ;-)

Yes :)
And lots more … to be told with time.

I was thinking about using a photo of one of my cats too, who is no longer mine

I did like your “Mine”, though—personal space full of books and art…

I’m sorry to hear about Sergei’s demise. It’s always sad when one of our furry friends disappears, isn’t it. Unfortunately it happens all too often here in the southern Texas countryside [https://pitstexasexpatblog.wordpress.com/2012/09/19/oliver-has-disappeared/ & https://pitstexasexpatblog.wordpress.com/2011/06/21/buster-has-gone/%5D.
Take care, and have a good one,
Pit

He was an indoor cat, so no danger of being eaten by something… but I do sometimes wonder that they don’t die of boredom…

I just posted my entry, and low and behold we had the same response.

It seems about half of the posts in response to this challenge featured cats and dogs (as I suspected they would)—the other half of course spouses…

Lovely cat, Vlad. Such a pale orange and that white belly, like a creamsicle. And what a gaze. Our own dear felines brother & sister, died last year w/i weeks of each other. The dog soldiers on.

Thanks, Melissa! He was actually a bit darker than in this light, kind of pale orange brown..
So sad about your cats… but a lovely post about them!

That gave me an interesting thought: a cat in a kayak. Ha, talk about opposing forces.
Handsome looking cat indeed: may he rest in peace.

A staple of kayaking photography is the dog in the kayak, coming along for the ride. I don’t think I’ve ever seen that with a cat, however… probably too difficult to get the cat to sit still…

Hi Shaanthz,
That is a topic of conversation. One of us (albeit a dyed-in-the-wool cat lover) is allergic. This complicates the cat question….

OK, that is complicated. Any other pets?

Vlad, you are funny :) I know all about the mice that are uninvited guests…..and who sometimes refuse to leave.

He had a mean disposition. He would beat up on the other kitten we adopted, preventing it from eating or drinking (it died in a matter of weeks). He would attack everyone at any given moment. Later he sliced my mom’s leg so bad she put him to sleep because she didn’t trust him. That kind of bad :-(

Awwww …. my cat looks just like him. OMG … mine is fluffier. He is 23 1/2 years old. I know – no cat should live that long but he has. I see him everyday and learn more and more about aging. It isn’t pretty but he is teaching me about what is to come. i feel sad, now. My Marshmellow will soon meet your Sergei. ~~~~~~~ : -(
