This week’s Photo Challenge is Unexpected.
On our kayak trips through New England, we expect to see birds, seals, even whales…
But one day last May, as I was paddling through the desolate Elizabeth Islands in Massachusetts, I rounded a rocky point and came face to face with this huge, shaggy, horned beast, lounging on the beach and looking at me with uncomfortable interest.
Unexpected, to say the least.

Unexpected indeed Vladimir. My wife saw one of these beautiful beasts on the side of the road in the Moors of Dartmoor when she visited England but a Scottish Highland is the last thing you’d expect to see on the banks of a river in America.

Yes, and it wasn’t even on the banks of a river, but on a deserted island far out in the sea :-)
