This week’s Photo Challenge is Threshold:
“A threshold is a point of entering; that point just before a new beginning — that split-second moment in time, full of anticipation. All the hard work is over; relief is palpable.”
But then, as often as not, an unanticipated trap springs shut and your life spins in quite a different direction…
This post was inspired by 2812 Photography’s “Threshold” post and the questions it asks.
The first, more benign, “Threshold” post was here.

Vladimir, this is a perfect complement. You can bet I’ll be adding it to this week’s list of other notable takes on the theme. Well done indeed.

So did you release the tiny mouse?

We released the mouse in Central Park—
—but “frying pan, fire” comes to mind…

Indeed….there is such intelligence in his eyes…especially in the to camera shot where looks straight at us

So smart that we needed a smart-mouse trap to trap him ;-)

Great post, Vladimir … but poor little mouse – so afraid.
LikeLike
Afraid—but not so afraid that he neglected to eat the tasty nuts and raisins in the trap. When in prison but offered food, you should certainly eat it, as you don’t know where your next meal is coming from… ;-)

Wow … but very true – still I feel a bit sorry for him, I know what a nightmare its to have one indoors, found out the other day that we have a rat in our basement. Nothing in trap yet.

Rats will probably be more wary of traps than mice are…

… they are suppose to be very intelligent! I hope they catch it, does such terrible damage.

I feel a little sorry for the trapped animal. He looks a little confused.

Yes, he’d probably never been in a trap before…

Who would have thought a green mouse could be so poignant —

Yes, indeed. I hope it had a happy life in Central Park after we released it there…

One tends to forget that there’s a post-threshold as well as (of course) the pre-threshold (the one we all recognise). Great angle—cute mouse~!

This was the first mouse of a series, and by far the most cute. They got less cute as they went along ;-)
