Snow and shadows is a beautiful combination, and I like all the shades there’re revealed in your photos. Just like Carol, I am most drawn to the patterns of the fence :)

Yes, the fence… I’ve shown it so many times now that I almost didn’t this time :-)

Wow, the first photo looks like a painting, the blue coloured shadows are stunning! And I love the perspective.

Beautiful. Shadows on snow and shadows on sand are my two favorite shadow places. But also can be very interesting on stone and water.

On fresh snow, though, there is no distraction from the pure shadows…
Thanks, Marilyn!

Beautiful snow shots. With 20 below at Minnesota, it is really hard for me to take any snow pictures :-)

We’ve had cold days recently too, but then it’s sunny. When it tries to snow, it usually warms up, and then it rains instead :-(

Beautiful! I love that hint of violet!

:-) I can see that on one of my monitors, but not on another. The colors are so technology-dependent :-)

Well violet or not, the whole photo was gorgeous.

I like them all, but the first one, with the vertical emphasis and the city spreading out horizontally, is my favorite.

Snow—and the camera, and the post-processing—does that :-)

Lovely! The trees look so much like they were painted.

It was very wet snow, blasting sideways in the wind of the storm the previous day…

Looks chilly. Hope it isn’t too cold and wet for you. Brilliant shots. Those trees look really skinny, like they don’t have much strength :)

This was a couple of years ago. This year we are still awaiting proper snow that lasts more than a day or two. It hasn’t been cold and wet—usually here in NYC it’s one or the other…
Thanks, Mabel!!

These are beautiful. I’ve tried to capture the blue light in snow before, when I used to live in Philadelphia. It wasn’t until I started taking photos that I realized how the light spectrum is affected in snow.

Yes, it is—and even more by your camera settings and the monitor you view the photos on :-)

I love it when photographers can show such good photographs right where they live. I love your photos from the trips and out of state (and I like mine too), but it’s really cool when you can show beauty from your own backyard as it were.
